The Myth of Ocnus
The Torture of Unproductive Work
Ocnus is a deity in Greek mythology who was trapped in Hades and condemned to weave a rope out of straw for eternity.
To add to the torment, the rope he wove was eaten by a donkey as fast as he made it. Ocnus’ story symbolises the frustration we all feel when our lives are consumed by unproductive work.
